Signs

The signs of addiction include the drug becoming an individual’s focus, overtaking attention to relationships, work responsibilities, and areas of interest. Another sign is the interruption of health connections between the individual using meth and other individuals. An individual stealing money to buy the drug is another sign of addiction. The presence of withdrawal symptoms when someone quickly discontinues or decreases use is also a recognized sign of meth addiction.

Symptoms

There are both psychological and physical symptoms of meth addiction.

• Psychological Symptoms: agitation, irritability, mood swings, paranoia, psychosis
• Physical Symptoms: dental issues (including gum disease); heart problems, skin problems, weight loss

Community

We value community as part of addiction recovery. Through group therapy sessions and interactions while making meals together, residents have opportunities to interact with one another, benefiting from the community aspect of treatment. Our focus on community is extended in outpatient services and our aftercare offerings.

Customization

A major element of our residential rehab services is customized care. Each resident has a personalized treatment plan, framed to align with individual circumstances. We work with each client in creating and carrying out these personalized approaches.

Nutrition

Meth addiction can alter brain chemistry and deplete nutrients, effects that can be treated with healthy eating. We give attention to meals at Jackson House Recovery Centers that are meant to supplement nutrients and help balance chemicals in the brain.

We want each client to feel comfortable and supported entering the center. Upon arrival, an individual will be presented with paperwork to complete and meet with a staff nurse. Following is a tour of the facility, time to get settled, and an introduction to other residents. 

We strive to provide a compassionate and welcoming introduction and are positioned to answer questions and help individuals have a supported start to treatment.

As part of our approach, a client meets with a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner within the first 72 hours of arrival at the center. Typically, a client will meet with an assigned physician and counselor during the first week at the center to help determine the individual’s specific treatment plan for recovery.
